The new semester was kicked off on an enthusiastic note with an interhouse design competition and a vertical studio. This competition was conducted to build and strengthen the vertical connect between the student body; and invite student participation in building the ASAD image. Student teams from all four houses made various design options for momentos, calenders, stickers and T – shirts for the students and faculty; and to be given as memorabilia to visiting guests. The results were announced based on faculty evaluation and a poll conducted for all students. The vertical studio, conducted under the guidance of Ar. Satyendra Bhagat involved the design of a Village resource centre. In order to introduce them to sustainable building methods, the students were also taken on a visit to ‘Hunnarshala’ – a training institute for local and experimental building tchniques.
